All authors welcome reviews. I am no different to any other author. I have also long gotten over feeling rotten if a bad review is posted. In fact, those have been few and far between. I am lucky.

Both of my undercover cop books are doing well. One about a real undercover cop as was (me) and the other a fictional undercover cop, Steve Regan (not me). The memoir about the real me continues to sell steadily and long may that be the case. The debut fiction is slower in sales. Maybe it is a slow burner and it is the first in a trilogy so perhaps readers are waiting for Book Two and Book Three before taking the plunge? I did read somewhere that can happen.

That is the memoir above. Go ahead, take a free preview.

The latest review of that book was along these lines:

“One of my favourite reads of 2017. Once in a while I like to surprise myself by buying a book without knowing what it is about. Undercover turned out to a complete surprise. From the briefest glance at the cover I was expecting a crime fiction. What I got was a factual account of a major news story I recall from my teenage years. This is an extremely well narrated, compelling and personal view of the events and individuals involved in Operation Julie. It exquisitely captures the very essence of mid-1970s Britain, but for me, what made this book stand out are the characters. Whichever side of the law they stood, this book is about people, just ordinary people… “ – Amazon Customer Review

I appreciated that review immensely. The reader got it. It is about people, ordinary people whether undercover detectives or drug dealers involved in the UK’s biggest ever drug bust.

The latest review on Book One Steve Regan Undercover Cop thrilled me too. Here it is:

Twig the Wonder Kid

10 January 2018

Format: Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase

Thank you, Twig for such an encouraging review.

I can tell Twig that Book Two will not be published for a while yet but I will post  the opening of it here soon. It is very much a work in progress (WIP) but I would welcome feedback on the opening chapter. I particularly want to know if it will keep you, the reader, turning the pages.

Other news? The audiobook of my memoir should be released in March 2018 so please look out for that.
