Steve Regan, now known as Ryan, is undercover in Thailand, looking for a Texan named Les Watkins, the biggest drug smuggler in Thailand.
He is using himself as bait to score $500,000 worth of drugs from the Thai Mafia and to get closer to Watkins.
He becomes involved with Fon, a beautiful Thai woman and they both get involved in the dangerous operation.
Meanwhile, Carlos Vitale and Regan/Ryan’s nemesis is in Thailand fleeing from the US after ordering the death of the heads of 3 crime families.
When in mortal danger will he choose his new life or another alternative?
Regan is BACK!
I am so pleased Stephen Bentley has written another Regan story, I LOVE him!!
The first book ‘Who the F*** am I?’ was brilliant and I wasn’t disappointed with this one. Regan is still risking his life and wondering why he is doing it. The story is strong as are the characters. It made me laugh, cry and cringe (some scenes are wickedly descriptive).
The author keeps the story short and sweet with no padding and unwanted descriptions of the scenery; it is pure action and thrills.
I recommend this book and indeed the Regan series they are excellent and a real joy to read.

4.0 out of 5 stars Has all the elements of a great suspense thriller
16 August 2018
Format: Kindle Edition
The second book in Stephen Bentley’s -the Steve Regan, Undercover Cop Series, Dilemma, has all the elements of a great suspense thriller. This novella follows Steve Regan (aka Ryan’s) undercover operation in Thailand. The author’s knowledge of undercover work shines through and made the events feel authentic.
The story opens with a bang- or bangs -as separate bombs rip apart Italian restaurants in three different cities in the US – The only thing the restaurants have in common is that they are all regularly used by Mafia chiefs. The main suspect behind the bombings is Carlo Vitale of the Miami Mafia – who is involved in smuggling heroin. He is also an old enemy of Regan.
In Thailand, cop, Steve Regan, is using managing Lucky’s Bar as a front for his undercover work- to infiltrate the drug smuggling bosses.
Steve Regan, isn’t author Stephen Bentley, but it seems that the author has drawn widely on his own experiences, both as an undercover cop and as someone who has lived in Thailand.
I particularly liked Fon’s character –the Mama-san who manages the girls working at Lucky’s bar. Regan develops feelings for Fon, and their developing relationship is interesting and filled with surprises and twists and turns.
Regan has issues of his own, having lost his wife and daughter in a car accident, which he felt he could have prevented.
Events that follow are gritty, raw and filled with action and intrigue.
Dilemma certainly worked for me as a stand-alone book, without having read the first book in the series, or even Stephen Bentley ’s memoir, Undercover- Operation Julie- The Inside Story. I was interested to see that part of the sales royalties from this book goes to the James Bulger Memorial Trust, a UK charity.
